Free state Amsterdam

NDSM wharf Amsterdam North.in society of today there is little room for the individual.we are very busy with ourselves but behave very similar and identical.we buy things and walk paths that are layed out for us. this is okay becauselife itself is build up for 95% of repetition. People who want to make a different way of living have a hard time. Amstedam used to be the place of tolleranceand free spirit. Today teh counry is run by a christian oriented governement.
the places where artist are working and living are organised by a policy.there is no freedom without regulation. no free moment without restriction.I believe in structure because without it is the battle of the strongest, a naturalselection. We are a group of artist that were looking for room.in the nineties this land was of no use to anybody and yet it was so close to the citycentre. we were allowed to make studio's there and slowly everybody was happy.
now the council wants to make the terrein 'home of the creative industy'.we are fine about it but the problem is that it became a zone of no control.the photo's are from criminal free riders that give us (a group of about 100 artist) a hard time. the caravans we threw out and the message was:no more lazy bums, free riders and alcoholics on our terrain.
self organisation at its purest....

Bart Stuart sent me a message with info about this place and photos, thanks by contacting me.

ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN

Astana is the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan since some years ago, and lots of modern buildings (some of them are weird, but most of them are really beautiful and functional), are being built in the city. The government of the nation built modern buildings too. Nevertheless, the largest city in Kazakhstan is Alma-Ata, the former capital.

Santander, northern Spain.

The city is located in the north of Spain, and I live very close to this city (only 20 kms far), I can tell about this city that is very beautiful, it has one of the most impressive palaces of Spain, it has 5 nice beaches, historical buildings, boats allover the bay...

Economical problems for General Motors.

Some weeks ago, the American government had to buy around the 60 % of the enterprise, because if not, they'd declarate GM in bankrupty.

General Motors, and all of its brands of cars, are a symbol of the USA, and their way of life. Now, the enterprise and its models will change, they are going to create eficient, smaller, and non-contaminant cars.

In the photo you can see the headcuarters of GM in Detroit, USA (Renaissance Center)

NORTH KOREA: ONE OF THE MOST SECRETIVE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD.

North Korea is located in the north of the peninsula of Korea, between te People's Republic of China and South Korea. It has a dictatorship government. Its leader of the government is a very secretive man called Kim Jong II. North Koreans don't know even his age and health state.

In his birthday (the know the date when he adds a year to his unknown age) they celebrate it with a expensive and full of people party.
Lots of schoolboys and schoolgirls do a show, as the one of the following photo:

Oh, and North Korea spends almost all its money in army (misils, nuclear bombing, etcetera), but then its population doesn't have enough food...Isn't it shameful?

POSTCROSSING, THE POSTCARD CROSSING PROJECT.

Postcrossing, the postcard crossing project:

The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive at least one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.
Why? Because, like the author, there are lots of people who like to receive real mail. The element of surprise of receiving postcards from different places in the world (many of which you probably have never heard of) can turn your mailbox into a box of surprises - and who wouldn't like that?

There are more than 2 million postcards received since 2005!
How does it work?
First, the short version:
1-request an address from the website
2-mail the postcard to the address
3-wait to receive a postcard
4-register the received postcard in the system
The first step is to request to send a postcard. The website will display (and send you an e-mail) with the address of another member and a Postcard ID (e.g.: US-786). You then mail a postcard to that member.
The member receives the postcard and registers it using the Postcard ID that is on the postcard. At this point, you are eligible to receive a postcard from another user. You are now in line for the next person that requests to send a postcard. Where the postcard comes from is a surprise!
You can have up to 5 postcards traveling at any single time. Every time one of the postcards you send is registered, you can request another address. The number of postcards allowed to travel at any single time goes up the more postcards you send!

You can join POSTCROSSING and know lots of places HERE:
